My name is Nak Lina. I am 12 years old and I live in Banteay Meanchey province. Because my family is poor, I had little interest in studying at school so my scores were very low.

One day a Pastor named Say Yok, the project manager of New Life of Hope, came to visit my family and encouraged me to go and study in her supplemental class project. She also explained the importance of education in helping me and my family to get out of poverty. After I understood, I was very happy to attend the class.

I really enjoyed how the teacher of the supplemental class taught me. As I studied, I improved in reading, writing, and mathematic which gave me a high score in the public primary school.

I am very thankful for the New Life of Hope project which changed my life. In the future I want to be a teacher, so I can help the children in my village get a good education because I know it can help them get out of poverty too.
