Kone Kmeng’s Community Healthcare program provides hygiene education to provincial communities and sets a model for basic healthcare for these communities. Much of the illness in village communities is preventable and can be attributed to a lack of knowledge on basic hygiene and nutrition. The benefits of things like washing your hands, keeping a clean home, and regular body hygiene are foreign concepts. In response, we offer courses to give families the tools they need to prevent common illness. Our courses teach a range of topics such as the benefits of using a latrine, how to properly treat a wound, or topics as simple as why you should brush your teeth. Through these courses, families are ultimately taught how to live a healthy lifestyle so that they may, in turn, live a life free from illness.
